Do You Need to Blog for Your Business?

Blogging is essential for any business looking to succeed online.

Why is this important? Many businesses struggle to get noticed online. They need a way to stand out, to show their expertise, and to connect with potential clients. Blogging can solve this problem by providing a platform to share valuable content. In this post, we'll explore the benefits of blogging for your business and why it's worth your time.

The Unique Advantages of Blogging

Blogging offers distinct benefits that other platforms cannot match.

  • Multiple Gains: Blogging allows you to use a single piece of content for various purposes. It can be repurposed for social media, newsletters, and more.

  • SEO Benefits: Blog posts improve your website's search engine rankings, making it easier for potential clients to find you.

  • Content Bank: A blog builds a repository of information that showcases your expertise and attracts visitors.

  • Audience Engagement: Blogging creates opportunities to connect with your audience, build trust, and foster relationships.

Blogging stands out because it provides a multi-faceted approach to online presence.

The 30-Day Business Blogging Challenge

Our 30-day Business Blogging Challenge transforms businesses by refining their online presence.

Participants often start with a clear vision. However, as they engage with the challenge, their perspectives shift. Writing regularly helps them refine their brand and message. This process shapes their business identity and enhances their connection with the audience.

  • Perspective Shift: The challenge helps participants see their business from new angles.

  • Brand Refinement: Regular blogging clarifies and sharpens your brand message.

  • Audience Connection: Consistent content helps build a stronger relationship with potential clients.

  • Business Identity: Blogging shapes how your business is perceived online.

Just imagine what you could achieve with a more compelling business narrative.

Promoting Your Business Through Blogging

Blogging is an effective way to promote your business online.

  • SEO-Friendly: Blog posts improve your search engine visibility.

  • Expertise Showcase: Blogging lets you demonstrate your knowledge and experience.

  • Content Variety: You can cover different topics, providing valuable information to your audience.

  • Engagement: Regular posts keep your audience engaged and coming back for more.

  • Trust Building: Blogging builds trust with your audience, making them more likely to choose your services.

Most people find that the long-term benefits of blogging outweigh the effort required.

Building a Content Bank

A content bank is a collection of valuable posts that showcase your expertise.

Consider a typical business website with only a few static pages. It doesn't tell much about your business. Now, imagine a website with numerous blog posts. Each post offers insights into your industry knowledge and unique value.

  • Enhanced Appeal: A rich blog makes your website more attractive to visitors.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Each post shares your expertise and insights.

  • Trust Building: A content-rich site builds trust with potential clients.

  • Visitor Engagement: Visitors are more likely to engage with a site that offers valuable content.

  • Business Personality: Blogging reveals your business's personality and values.

Would it be okay if I suggested that a robust blog could significantly enhance your website's appeal?

Overcoming Blogging Concerns

Worried about the time and effort required for blogging?

  • Time Investment: Yes, it requires time, but the benefits are worth it.

  • Content Ideas: Once you start, generating ideas becomes easier.

  • Technical Skills: Basic blogging skills can be learned quickly.

  • Consistency: Regular posting builds a habit that benefits your business.

  • Support: There are many resources available to help you get started.

Remember, the long-term benefits of blogging far outweigh the initial effort.

The Ultimate Benefit: Trust

Clients nowdays want more and trust is crucial for business success.

A well-maintained blog helps build this trust. It offers a transparent view of your business, allowing potential clients to understand your expertise and values before they make any commitments.

  • Transparency: Blogging provides a clear view of your business.

  • Expertise: Each post showcases your knowledge and skills.

  • Values: Blogging reveals your business values and personality.

  • Client Confidence: Potential clients feel more confident choosing your services.

  • Long-Term Relationships: Blogging helps build lasting relationships with clients.

Do you need to blog for your business?
[00:00:03.13]

That's the question for this video.

[00:00:05.18]

My name is Kevin from the Online Visibility Agency, and I'm going to

[00:00:08.29]

answer the question of, do you actually need to have a blog or write any blog

[00:00:13.02]

posts to build your business up online?

[00:00:17.18]

And the answer is, of course, you do.

[00:00:20.04]

However, and it's a big however, what blogging offers, which

[00:00:25.03]

most platforms don't, is a way of using a piece of content for multiple gains.

[00:00:32.19]

What I mean by that is this.

[00:00:35.05]

Firstly, when we have people go through the 30 day business blogging challenge,

[00:00:38.21]

which is our free course, people come in with a preconceived idea

[00:00:43.21]

of how they want to be seen online, what their business is really about,

[00:00:50.04]

and how they want to deliver and present that business.

[00:00:53.02]

And by the time they start getting into the business blogging challenge,

[00:00:57.12]

that slightly shifts for them.

[00:00:59.02]

The amount of people that we've had that have come through it

[00:01:01.06]

that have gone, You know what?

[00:01:03.02]

This isn't quite the way I wanted to present it.

[00:01:06.13]

It's helped me to change the way I want to present my business and

[00:01:11.18]

the offer that I want to put forward to my prospective clients.

[00:01:16.05]

So it's actually really helped shape and form the actual business

[00:01:20.23]

itself by going through that.

[00:01:22.03]

And not many mediums allow you to do that.

[00:01:24.26]

Even video doesn't really allow you to do that.

[00:01:27.02]

But when you're writing it down and you're putting it out there, you use

[00:01:30.26]

different parts of your brain to do that, and it works slightly differently.

[00:01:35.17]

Of course, we want promotion for our business, and often we look at...

[00:01:41.06]

multiple different ways of getting promotion for our business online.

[00:01:44.02]

We can go into We can do live streams, we can do videos, we can pay for marketing,

[00:01:50.01]

we can do paid ads, we can pay for Google search results, Yahoo

[00:01:57.14]

search results, Bing search results.

[00:01:59.26]

We can do all of these things.

[00:02:02.10]

And of course, blogging falls into the mix of, it is SEO compatible,

[00:02:06.24]

it does get found in search engines, it is one of the ways of getting amazing

[00:02:11.03]

content out there for people to find.

[00:02:13.10]

But I think the biggest thing that I find that blogging helps with your business

[00:02:18.16]

is the fact that it builds up a bank of content on your site

[00:02:23.16]

that shows your expertise.

[00:02:25.12]

And when someone comes along to your site, so for example, as an accountant,

[00:02:31.24]

and you've got a brochure website.

[00:02:34.00]

So you got five pages on your website, home, about, contact,

[00:02:38.28]

services, and that's it.

[00:02:41.16]

It gives you, it's handy, so on a business card, it says your name

[00:02:45.29]

as your phone number and how to get in touch, but it doesn't really tell

[00:02:49.18]

anybody about you, about your business, about you as a leader in your business,

[00:02:53.27]

and anything like that.

[00:02:56.07]

And when you start to build blogging content,

[00:02:58.26]

that really starts open up to people what your business is about, who you are,

[00:03:05.17]

the ethics that run through your business, the way that you operate,

[00:03:08.11]

your views within your industry of your business, and all of these amazing

[00:03:11.27]

things, and your experience.

[00:03:14.14]

And it's really hard to do that on a five-page site.

[00:03:17.04]

It's static.

[00:03:17.24]

It's hard to do that in a concise way in any other type of medium.

[00:03:23.18]

And business blogging is one of the ways that this really does open up

[00:03:30.05]

to showing your audience.

[00:03:31.12]

When they find you online, they may come in through one blog post on search

[00:03:35.26]

or through social media, and they come in, and then they'll look around.

[00:03:39.06]

And we can tell they look around because you go into your

[00:03:42.07]

Google Analytics and you can see which pages they've hopped about on.

[00:03:45.14]

So you can see why you want to get involved with business

[00:03:49.22]

because they do go and look for more information than a five-page brochure

[00:03:54.01]

website will deliver up to them.

[00:03:56.12]

And nowadays people are nervous.

[00:04:00.24]

They're nervous about contacting people.

[00:04:02.29]

They're nervous about buying from people they don't know without

[00:04:06.20]

rock solid cast iron guarantees.

[00:04:09.24]

Large shopping sites online have to really go over the top on their customer service

[00:04:16.28]

and their refund policies to make people feel secure enough to purchase.

[00:04:23.07]

When we look at presenting our business online, whether that's as

[00:04:26.17]

a service provider, a product provider, or whatever, we need to create the same

[00:04:31.20]

type of environment, but it's an unknown.

[00:04:33.13]

And how do we do that?

[00:04:34.16]

We do it by consistent content that's being delivered to our audience.

[00:04:40.15]

So when I go onto a site, and this is the feedback I've had from a huge amount

[00:04:44.18]

of people, if I go on to a website, so I'm looking for an accountant, go

[00:04:48.26]

on to a website, an accountant's website, and they've got five pages on there.

[00:04:52.02]

I'll go, looks all right.

[00:04:55.11]

Go on to a website that's got five pages on there, 100 blog posts.

[00:05:00.22]

And I'm specifically a marketer, and they've been talking about some

[00:05:04.15]

of the digital marketing elements of running a business.

[00:05:08.22]

I'm like, Yeah, I really like, because they're talking specifically

[00:05:14.11]

about some of the issues I face.

[00:05:16.23]

I know you've dealt with my type of business before.

[00:05:19.04]

A five-page site won't tell you that.

[00:05:21.25]

So do you have to blog for your business? You don't have to.

[00:05:25.15]

Nobody makes people do anything with whatever they're doing online.

[00:05:29.11]

However, The benefits of doing it far, far, far outweigh

[00:05:35.22]

the drawbacks of doing it.

[00:05:36.29]

The only real drawback is time and some of the technical skills that you need

[00:05:42.01]

to learn to be able to do it effectively.

[00:05:43.20]

But the main thing is time.

[00:05:45.29]

Coming up with ideas and all of that is easy once you start getting

[00:05:49.11]

into the flow of doing it.

[00:05:51.02]

But no other system, no other way of promoting yourself will have the same

[00:05:56.07]

effect long term for you and for your clients.

[00:06:00.06]

As business blogging will.

[00:06:01.26]

So if that's got you interested and you're thinking, you know what?

[00:06:06.12]
